How billing works
Clynchd's fee is billed entirely through Shopify's own billing system — there's no separate account to connect and nothing to set up.
Consumer wins a bid
A consumer places a bid, retailers compete across up to three rounds, and the best offer locks. The winning retailer receives a checkout link request.
Consumer pays through your Shopify store
The consumer completes checkout on your Shopify store at the locked price. Payment goes directly to you via your normal Shopify payment setup.
Clynchd collects the platform fee
Once payment is confirmed, Shopify automatically bills Clynchd's 4% platform fee as part of your regular Shopify billing. This is charged separately to the consumer payment — not deducted from your payout.
You fulfil the order
The order appears in your Shopify admin alongside your normal orders. Fulfil it using your existing process — nothing changes on your end.
Common questions
Is there a monthly subscription fee?
No. Clynchd is free to install and there is no monthly or annual fee. You only pay the 4% platform fee when a consumer completes an order through Clynchd.
What counts as a completed order?
An order is complete when the consumer pays for their order through your Shopify checkout. Bids that are placed but not won, or orders where payment is not completed, do not attract a fee.
What happens if an order is cancelled or refunded?
The platform fee is collected at the time of payment. If you subsequently cancel or refund an order through Shopify, please contact us at support@clynchd.com and we will review the fee on a case-by-case basis.
How is the fee billed?
Clynchd uses Shopify's own usage-based billing (Shopify App Pricing). The 4% fee is calculated automatically from your completed order value and appears on your regular Shopify bill — there is no separate invoice from Clynchd.
Do I need a Stripe account?
No. Clynchd doesn't use Stripe for Shopify-connected stores. Billing is handled entirely through Shopify, so there's nothing separate to connect or set up.
